Saint Memin? - portrait of unknown man

This miniature portrait is a physionontrace type of portrait which was created using a mechanical process and then hand colored. It is believed to be signed under the mount, but unfortunately it is attached too tightly to the mount to tell.

The portrait is attributed to Charles Balthazar Julien Fevert Saint Memin (1770-1852). The portrait does not appear in the catalogue of Saint Memin's work prepared by Ellen Miles and the sitter is unknown.

There were other artists making similar types of portraits, so it may be by one of them and thus not be Saint Memin.
