This miniature portrait is perhaps more likely to be British, but there are Amercian connections. The inscription reads "Amelia Smith, youngest daughter of Thomas Smith of Manchester, England. Born July 12,1782 Married Capt. Wm. Callahan Jan 1799 Died at Newport RI Nov 10 1826". 479
